Falling, not flying,
the dip of an elevator's tumble
in my stomach.
I'm staring, captivated,
but you cannot see,
and perhaps you never will.
Beautiful,
the grin that strays across your lips
lights your face with its pleasure,
and I smile in reply,
wondering if I could make you laugh;
bring that sparkle to your eyes,
the upward curve to the mouth I long to kiss
as tempting in repose
as when animated
by emotion.
