disclaimer/f.a.q.
- By definition, the characters and shows, books, movies or other assorted subjects that a writer of fanfiction writes about are not his or her own; they are usually owned by some other author, corporation or similar, and so fanfiction cannot truly be copyrighted, although plagiarism is looked upon as negatively in the fanfiction arena as elsewhere.
- I rarely write fanfiction based on books, as I find it easier to "pin down" characters that I've seen played by actual people, usually on-screen somewhere. I also take up lots of writing challenges, because they help me get more done, even though I don't always finish them on time. My rating system on this site is not consistent, and I apologise for that!
- Flames will be used to toast yummy marshmallows. Reviews will be squeed over. Constructive criticism will be gladly received! Thank you for reading! Until the forms are back up, you can contact me here.
- You can use the buttons below to link back to the site at http://dream.unfaithful-mirror.net if you wish, but please don't hotlink to them.
- If you wish to archive anything here on another site, please ask first. I'll probably say yes, but I like to know where my stuff is going.
- I have a tendency to abandon work-in-progress stories. I've left plenty apparently unfinished, but they are also listed here. If you don't like to read tales with no ending, I suggest you avoid the stories marked "WIP".
- Most of my one-shots are well under 1,000 words in length, and the majority are what would usually be referred to as drabbles - 100 words in length - since I prefer to write that way. Please don't ask for anything longer-- the muse gives what she gives, and I'm not good at filling requests.
- All work that doesn't belong to fanfiction categories is mine and original, whatever it may have been inspired by, if anything, and as such must not be plagiarised, or retribution will follow when I find out about it!
- This site is on its fourth layout. Version 1 featured a screen capture of waves from the music video for Lamb's "Gabriel", in blue and lavender with sycamore-leaf brushes; version 2 featured Torri Higginson and Carrie-Anne Moss, coded and uploaded in late February 2006, in pastels; version 3 again featured Torri Higginson, as Elizabeth Weir, and Joe Flanigan as John Sheppard, in their roles on the television show Stargate: Atlantis. The present version of the site features actress Mary McDonnell in her role as Battlestar Galactica (2003)'s Laura Roslin; the font used on the layout image is Jane Austen and the brush was made by Sanami276 (I'll link back as soon as I find the URL). I think this layout is possibly the most fitting I've had to match the site's title so far, as the pictures in it are from a dream sequence!
- The name of this site originated in an Indigo Girls lyric, "as distant as last night's dream unravels"; I chose it because I felt it fit somehow. Nothing here is dated owing to my not always noting down the date on a story when I write it, but some of the material on this site dates back as far as 2002.
